Working & Learning Conditions Survey, Award Nominations & Chapter Grants 2026

Work and Learning Conditions Survey

The 2025-2026 BCTLA Working & Learning Conditions survey is open. The survey gives us important information we can use to help with funding and bargaining. This year, we will be sharing the aggregate picture of BC with Canadian School Libraries to help facilitate better advocacy across Canada, so your participation is more valuable than ever. Thanks!

Districts with a minimum of 50% participation will receive a detailed analysis of their surveys. Please share the link with your members and encourage participation!

Complete the survey for a chance to win a gift card to a bookstore or a hotel stay the night before the conference!

BCTLA Award Nominations, Individual Grant and Chapter Grant Applications

Is there a fantastic new Teacher-Librarian in your district? Is there a Teacher-Librarian doing great things in their library and school? Do you know a Teacher-Librarian who has spent their career making significant contributions to school libraries in BC?

Nominate them for a BCTLA award. You can find the criteria for each award on our Awards & Grants page under Member Services. Did you nominate a TL and they didn’t receive the award? Nominate them again! Make sure you fill out the application well and give us lots of details about why YOUR nominee is the best librarian in the world.

Individual and Chapter Grants will be open for application on April 1, 2026. You can find the criteria for Individual Grants on our Awards & Grants page under Member Services.

Go to our Chapter Grants page to apply as a whole chapter. We’re hoping to give local chapters a chance to engage in Teacher-Librarian activities and initiatives. We have four grants available each year, with a maximum amount of $1000 awarded per grant. You must be an active chapter in the BCTLA with a constitution updated in the past five years.
