Our New Legacy Page for the BCTLA Bookmark Publication

For as long as the BCTLA has been around, BC Teacher-Librarians have been working hard to support their colleagues. This has taken many forms over the years. One of the earliest was a newsletter written by our members and executive. The Bookmark contains useful tips, lessons, resources, and reviews of library-worthy publications to help build our Library Learning Commons programs and collections. This new page is an archive of past issues and articles from 1985-2009.

With the evolution of technology, we now have the BCTLA website to house our current articles and information. However, we didn’t want to forget the past efforts of our organization. We invested in the technology to properly scan The Bookmark documents so that keyword searches yield helpful results. Past BCTLA members also compiled The Bookmark Articles Subject Index to help find specific topics more quickly. We hope you enjoy looking back on our history and perhaps recognize some of your colleagues as contributors to this publication.

We are also putting out a call for help. We know that Teacher-Librarians are also great at preserving collections and might have old issues of The Bookmark in their LLC. You might notice that we have a couple of gaps due to missing issues and are hoping you might be able to help us complete our catalogue. Specifically:

  • Volume 44, Issue 2
  • Volume 47, Issues 1 & 2
  • Volume 49, All issues
  • Any issues you realize are missing

The new page can be found under Resources & Publications > Bookmark Magazine
